HILLTOPSAR
History of HillTop Serch and Rescue
It all started when I was transporting a Bloodhound for a rescue. I met the person who was taking over the next leg of the transport and she was involved with mantrailing for Nashville OEM. She asked if I had a Bloodhound and if I would be interested in training him to be a mantrailing Bloodhounds. Of course this peaked my interest. I started training in late 2008. I was lucky enough to become a member of Sumner County EMA and the Sumner County Sheriff's Office. Our Bloodhounds were used with these organizations until I mover to Virginia in 2018.
I am currently on my 5th Bloodhound trained and certified in mantrailing. I also have an Bloodhound (Trooper) trained in HRD. Trooper will be retiring soon.
I've been extremely lucky to meet and train with some fantastic instructors and handlers in areas of SAR and Law Enforcement. Currently I am volunteering with the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office as a deputy and K9 handler, and train with many Law Enforcement and SAR people in the Virginia area.
I recently lost my number one Bloodhound Bobbie to Cancer, she was only 5 years old. Best Bloodhound I ever had.
So I just got a puppy and named her June Carter. She is progressing very well in training and she will be certified in the spring of 2019.
Heidi her sister has taken over the number one spot and is a great mantrailer Bloodhound. She has been certified for the last three years with the NPBA.
